Airport Emergency Service
- The Changi Airport Emergency Service is the team that is counted on to make a difference when the unexpected happens. For any airport to remain operational, a world-class aviation rescue and fire-fighting unit is essential. Officers in our Airport Emergency Service have a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to life-saving. We train for every possibility to ensure that the fire safety standards across Changi Airport, Seletar Airport and the RSAF airbases are never compromised. From conducting exercises, executing aerodrome emergency plans, mitigating aircraft accidents to planning emergency response for large-scale events, our team is poised to handle all emergencies within the airport vicinity.
- AES currently represents Singapore in the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Rescue and Fire Fighting Working Group (RFFWG). The ICAO RFFWG convenes at least once a year to discuss, deliberate and update ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices for the provision of ARFF services. AES also sits on the executive board of the International Aviation Fire Protection Association (IAFPA) which is an association that not only works closely with other organizations to suggest enhancements to aircraft fire and passenger safety but also promote information exchange to improve ARFF services amongst its members.
- Embracing the motto "Speed – Skill - Safety", AES will continue to challenge itself by setting new standards in the areas of operational proficiency, training effectiveness and learning excellence as we strive to be a top-notch ARFF service recognised as the best in its class.
